Dorothy Ann Moore, 80, went to meet her Lord and Savior June 16, 2019. Dorothy “Dot” was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She graduated from Red Bank High School also in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She worked as a Direct Care Professional for Open Arms Care Corporation in Ootewah, Tennessee where she loved and cared for her clients like her own children. Dorothy was a Sunday School Teacher and was also a teacher for Vacation Bible School at Colonial Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. She loved the Lord and wanted to tell everyone about how they could also know him as their Savior.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Jane Griffice; father, Henry Jesse Bice; step-father, George Griffice; brother, Ronald H. Bice; and sister, Barbara Jean Bice. She is survived by her brothers, George “Bill” Griffice and Thomas “Tommy” Griffice; daughter, Ketrena Moore Edwards; son, Derrick Dwight Moore and wife, Stephanie C. Moore; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Lang and her husband James P. Lang, Jason Daniel Edwards, Sierra Schaeffer and her husband Curtis Schaeffer; great-grandchildren, Grace Leeann Lang, Olivia Faith Lang, Mackenzie D. Houston, Martin D. Lang, Malcolm H. Lang and Makaylyn D. Lang.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 4-6 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Virginia.
