Charles Roy Probst

Charles Roy Probst, "Charlie" passed away on July 23, 2016 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was born July 14, 1944 in Rockingham, North Carolina. Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Probst (née Molloy); his sons, Charles Probst (Maura), Michael Probst (Jessica), C.J. Probst (Maryanne), Christopher Probst (Diana), and many grandchildren he adored. Charlie grew up in San Angelo, TX., where he graduated as a star basketball player, from Lake View High School, in 1963. A dedicated serviceman, he retired from the United States Navy as a veteran of the Vietnam War, into the United States Navy Reserve for a period of time. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Charlie was a devoted husband, father and friend. A genuinely kind and easy going man who enjoyed his life and the people in it. He was adored and well liked by his family and friends. Services are Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Virginia. Family will meet and greet visitors at the funeral home at 3:30pm with a memorial service to follow at 4:00pm.
