Betty Ann Raike Sellars, 93, of Williamsburg, passed away on September 28, 2013, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar W. Sellars. Betty was a native of Logan, West Virginia and the daughter of the late G. Walker Raike and Ruth Love Raike.
A resident of Williamsburg for 26 years, she graduated from Arlington Hall Junior College, Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Kentucky where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
She served with her husband, Oscar, on the board of directors for the National Bank of Logan and Bank of Man, West Virginia. She presided as chairman of the board of the Bank of Man. At the time of his death in 1990, Mr. Sellars had been in the banking industry for 35 years in Northern Virginia and West Virginia.
Mrs. Sellars loved playing golf and was formerly a member of the Kingsmill Ladies Golf Association, as well as, the Kingsmill Women’s Social Club. She was a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, where she once served as a lay minister.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary S. Enright; son-in-law, John W. Enright, of Williamsburg; and two beloved granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne and Mary Louise Enright of Richmond.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12th at 2:00p.m., at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. J Clay Riley officiating, followed by a reception. Sunday, October 13th at 1:00p.m., family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church, Toano. Neck Episcopal Church.
