William "Bill" Emil Schaffroth, age 84, of The Villages, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was born March 21, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Emil and Lena Schaffroth.
Bill was raised in Ambler, PA and graduated from Ambler High School. He then attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA. where he earned a BA in Industrial Engineering in 1958. After graduation, he served two years in the Army Reserves.
He was an avid horse racing fan and spent his Saturdays at Philadelphia Park and later, after moving to Florida, in Ocala at Off Track Betting. He was such a regular that he had his neighbors convinced he was still working, just on Saturdays.
He also loved to partake in a round of golf; preferring to be one of the first off the tee early in the morning.
Bill was known for his unique and abundant dry sense of humor.
Bill loved living in The Villages and often expressed how lucky we were to live here in our retirement years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Bobbie; sister, Marion Harrer (Rudy); nephews and niece, Steve, Adrianne and Jeffery; great niece and nephew, Matt and Allie; canine companion, Bandit; as well as numerous extended family members, friends and dear neighbors.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
