John's professional career was in the food industry. He was able to provide a good life for his family, his number one priority. John was ever present in his children's lives, attending dance shows, coaching youth soccer and any activity involving them. He is the Founding Director of the Old Town Chapter, Brandon, Florida. The Harley Davidson Chapter became his extended family. It was all about "ride and have fun" and "the friends we haven’t met yet". John, along with the Board of Directors adopted Southeastern Guide Dogs, Paws for Patriots, as the Chapter charity. This has been the charity of choice since 2007.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Marian Croke; children, Alison McKelvey and Jonathan McKelvey; sister, Maureen Freundlich, sisters-in-law Kathleen Pagano, Patricia Nizzere (Paul), Barbara Croke and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Barbara Casale.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Sunday, February 20th from 1:00 to 4:00PM at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Road in Wildwood.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs in care of Paws for Patriots at Donate Today - Southeastern Guide Dogs.
