William worked for Cox Communications and later for the United States Postal Service. William graduated from Northwest High School in Wichita, KS and attended Kansas State and Wichita State Universities.
William was an easy-going man, with a deep voice, who always had a smile on his face and a very gentle spirit. He was a fixer who always wanted to make things right. He had a sweet-tooth, but, also, enjoyed a delicious porterhouse steak. His favorite film of all time was the Matrix. William was an avid fan of the KC Chiefs, and you could find him in the backyard grilling year-round. But most of all, he enjoyed taking long road trips with is wife and children with whom he loved spending most of his time.
Left to treasure William's memory is his loving wife, Sonya and their four wonderful children, sons-Nathaniel, Nicolas and Wyndsor, and his daughter, Saoirse.
Also left to cherish his memory: his sisters - Vinny Burns, Ivy Reed (David) and Latina Carter-Burns (LaToynda); his brothers - Ricky Burns (Marilynn) and Kerry Burns (Teresa), and a host of nieces and nephews.
William is preceded in death by his parents Betty Jo Burns, Theopoulis Friday, and his sister Caroline "Cookie" Burns.
