Billy started taking piano lessons when he was a senior in high school. His lesson was right before mine. I was a few years younger but had been playing for several years. He could turn through the book and play pieces almost perfectly just by sight reading. I would arrive early just to observe this. He had an incredible mind that apparently had no limits.

Our condolences to Bill's family. I remember him so fondly as we lived across the corner from home in St. George from 1943 to 1945. He was always making things and inventing stuff even then. Our family moved a few streets away but in a small town and members of the same church, we stayed in touch. I remember so well his Dad's rooftop Santa and sleigh that rocked back and forth throughout the Christmas season. Bill and his Dad were so creative. Bill was thought to be the brightest student to go through our public schools. Thank you for including our town weekly paper in his notices. We pray that his family finds comfort from the good regards his old friends send your way.

Uncle Bill had definite passion for life. His love of family, friends, music, birding and humor were a testament to his love of life. Nell and I especially loved his sense of humor. We will certainly miss his visits and his wonderful stories. Nancy, we hope that your loss will be comforted by your children and your friends. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and the boys!

Our brother-in-law, Bill, was an amazing man.  He always had a story to tell and a sense of humor throughout his life. Our love and sympathy to my sister, Nancy, and all their family.

I am so sorry for your loss. William will be missed. May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time.

When I became a research chemist, I sat down at my new desk in the north laboratory at Vulcan, beside that of WQB. I knew virtually nothing about practical research chemistry, my four years diploma notwithstanding. Bill became my mentor, and my friend. He taught me, and many others, how to solve problems. And while we worked together solving problems, he often provided me learned commentaries on other interesting matters, including astronomy, birding, history, &c. I will miss him.
