Thomas John Allen, age 79, passed away on June 4, 2021. He was born July 17, 1941 to James and Emma (Dempski) Allen in Natalie, Pennsylvania. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by many.
Thomas became an Eagle Scout in 1956 and was an "Order of the Arrow". He graduated from Mt. Carmel Joint Senior High School in 1959. After High School he joined the U.S Air Force and was sent to McConnell AFB. While stationed there, he met the girl of his dreams, Nancy Gilstrap; they had 4 daughters.
He served 20 years on the Wichita Police Dept. with the rank as a Police Examiner. Thomas was a 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus and was appointed Captain of the 3rd degree team.
Thomas was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post #3115, Kansas Police Officers Assoc., and a member at Christ The King Catholic Church where he was a Lecture and an Usher. He was an avid Wichita State Shocker fan as well as a huge Kansas City Chiefs football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Allen; and grandson, Jacob Farley. Thomas is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Allen; daughters, Carrie Seyam, Kelly (Mark) Jordan, Kris (Jaime) Rodriguez and Carla Farley; brother, Jim (Marge) Allen; sister, Kathy (Terry) Dietz; 10 grandkids; and 17 great grandkids.
Tom and his family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice; especially to his Hospice Nurse, Amy Degenhardt.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Monday, June 7, 2021 with Funeral service 10:00AM, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
