Sylvester J. Puetz

Sy graduated from St. Mary's High School (Cathedral) in Wichita, met his bride, Sharon, at a drugstore on Douglas and together they had 2 children, Gary and Cheryl. For 38 years, he worked in operations and maintenance for Vulcan Materials Company in Wichita and in his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors while fishing and playing softball.

He is preceded in death by wife: Bobbie Sharon Puetz (Shelton); parents: Herman J. Puetz/Matilda L. Puetz (Landwehr); and sister: Marcella Puetz.

He is survived by son: Gary Puetz/Carol (Snodgrass); daughter: Cheryl Higgins (Puetz)/Bill (Rickard); grandsons: Damon Puetz/Melissa (Armstrong), Travis Higgins/Brenda (Hahn), Brady Higgins, Caleb Higgins/Diana (LaClair); granddaughter: Shelby Logsdon (Puetz)/Timothy; great-granddaughters: Trinity, Olivia, Loralye, and Felecity Logsdon, Vanessa, Danyelle and Cassidy Higgins; and great-grandson: Owen Puetz.

A visitation for Sylvester will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, from 1:00 to 3 p.m., with a rosary and funeral service at 3:00 p.m., all at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS, 67209. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of the Lord's Prayer.
