Sonya R. Knowles, age 90, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1934 to Vernie and Emma Finley in Latham, Kansas. She married Charles Knowles in 1954.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles of 58 years; brother, Delbert Finley; sister, Velma Creed; and two daughters, Linda Taylor and Lucille Mahon.
She is survived by three children: Sonda (John) Lock, Chuck (Janis) Knowles and Vernie Knowles; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gilbert (Evelyn) Finley and Patricia (Max) Craig.

A visitation will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 9:00 AM with a service immediately following at 10:00 AM both at Resthaven Mortuary,11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A graveside service will follow after the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in the garden of Sermon on the Mount.
