Sharon was born March 4, 1939 to Edwin H. Marty and Florence (Nelson) Marty in Salina, KS. She was their only child. Sharon grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina High School in 1957. She attended Bethany College and graduated with a B.Ed. in 1961. She became a High School Business and Typing teacher.
She married Carl “Max” Butts on December 23, 1963 in Salina, KS. They lived in Conway Springs and Wichita, KS, where they shared many joys, sorrows, and blessings for 58 years. They loved God, family, country music, and college basketball.
She was employed by USD 259 for 25 years, first at the Transportation Department and later at Southeast High School Guidance Office.
She is survived by her husband, Max; daughter, Tina (Derrek) Burrows; and three grandchildren, Christopher Burrows, Westley Burrows, and Kayley Burrows.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Ester Burrows.
A come and go visitation will be available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th Street N, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
There will be a private Funeral Service held for Sharon.
