Robert “Bob” Hoelscher of Westminster, Colorado died Friday September 20th, at a memory care unit in Allen Texas, he was 79 years old. He will be laid to rest in Wichita, Kansas at Resthaven Cemetery on Friday September 27th, 2024.
Mr. Hoelscher, “Bob” to all that knew him, was born to Clarence and Marie Hoelscher in Wichita Kansas, October 18th, 1944. He graduated from North High School in Wichita and then took electronic classes with DeVry Institute while working for The Coleman Company. In the mid 1960’s during the Vietnam War, Bob was drafted by the U.S. Army and stationed at Seneca Army Depot/Romulus in upstate New York.
Due to his extensive electronics knowledge, he became a Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Specialist and performed classified missile work at White Sands Missile Testing Base in New Mexico. In 1971, he was Honorably Discharged.
After completing his military duty, Bob moved to Denver Colorado and settled in Westminster. He retired after thirty-five years of service as a Senior Scale Engineer for Fairbanks Scale Company in 2007.
Survivors include his son Jerry and daughter-in-law Karen Hoelscher, one grandson Jarrett, and three cousins Dwight and Barb Hoelscher, and Dwayn Hoelscher.
