Peggy Jeane (Fistler) Jaquis, 71, took the lyrics to “I’ll Fly Away” literally on April 14, 2021, and departed life to join family and friends who went before her in heaven. She was born in Mason City, Iowa on June 30, 1949 to Jack Eugene Fistler and Billie Jeane (Paul) Fistler.
She met Gregory Jaquis on a blind date in 1963, and the rest was history. They were married on May 23, 1964 in Albert Lea, Minnesota and began their family right away.
Peggy was, first and foremost, a family woman. She had the privilege of being able to be a wife and mother, and family was always her priority.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Linda Wilson.
She is survived by her amazing and loving husband of over 56 years, Greg Jaquis; sons, Greg (Debbie) Jaquis, Jr., Ron (Gale Henricksen) Jaquis, and Bill (Bethany) Jaquis; daughter, Paula Buford; brothers, Jack Fistler, Ruban Fistler, and Danny Fistler; grandchildren, Jenni (Ernie) Salas, Christina Mitchell, Heather Jaquis, J.R. (Katie) Buford, Timothy (Epiphany) Buford, Daniel Jaquis, Dylon Jaquis, Tori Curry, Penny Curry, Ian Jaquis and Colin Jaquis; and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Mitchell, Allie Mitchell, Hailey Mitchell, Colton Mitchell, Austin Salas, Jaxon Salas, Emma Salas, Jake Buford, Josh Buford, and Jackie Buford.
