Paul Richard “Dick” Wilt, aged 99, passed away on Oct. 22, 2021 at the Larksfield Place Health Care Center. Born and raised in York, PA, Dick graduated from the Univ. of Alabama, married his college sweetheart Mary Wilt in 1942 and then served as a Naval lieutenant during WWII. In 1949, he moved to Wichita to start a long career with Boeing as a metallurgist. After retirement, he continued to work, purchasing and doing most of the maintenance work on 26 rental homes. Dick was a man of many interests and was always very active. He and Mary traveled extensively with the local ACAP travel group, and internationally with Elder Hostel and Friendship Force. Dick was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working at his ”weekend “ farm. Grace Presbyterian Church was also an important part of his life. He participated in many of the church’s activities, including ushering, serving as a Deacon and helping with Economy Corner. He loved seeing his own great grandkids and those at the church’s preschool. He was a kind, very talkative and a gentle man who will be truly missed. He stayed active and engaged almost to the end of his very long and fruitful life.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Wilt, brother Kenneth Wilt (Margery) and wife, Mary Wilt.
He is survived by son Richard (Shirley) Wilt of Green Valley, AZ, daughter Sheryn (Arch) Blocher of Annapolis MD., grandson Adam (Esra) Krause of Exton PA and great grandchildren Nicolas, Ela and Leyla.
Dick requested no service and private burial.
