Markita M. (Leis) Terhune, 88, passed away peacefully March 8, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born the 8th child of George and Sophie Leis in Anness, KS. She had twelve brothers and two sisters. She is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Robert W. Terhune Sr., and infant daughter, Marina Kay, as well as two great-grandchildren, Calvin Shipley and Clara Nelson. She is survived by her sons, Bob Jr. (Frankie) of Plains, KS, Tom (Elaine) of Wichita, Kenny (Judy) of Wichita, Jim of Gunnison, CO; daughters, Kathy, Karen (Mark Nelson), Becky (Dave Barragree), and Mary (Rodney Gorges), all of Wichita. Markita has 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Wichita, KS.
