Marie A. Thompson, age 79, passed away December 23, 2020. Born January 2, 1941 to Rocco and Marie Giordano in Staten Island, New York. Marie was devoted to her church and spent many Tuesday’s at Adoration praying for her family and friends. She volunteered at The Lords Diner for many years helping to feed the homeless. She never knew a stranger. Marie and her sister, Tina, were very close and talked on the phone every day. They shared every moment of their lives, the good times and their sorrows. Marie never missed a birthday or anniversary and made sure to remind us to send a card, just in case we forgot. She loved New York and always talked about how she rode the ferry from Staten Island to Manhattan for work. Marie loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trip to Italy with her husband. She loved to cook and was especially known for her eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti sauce, or “gravy” as the Italians call it. Marie was truly devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed.
