Judith Ann Woodring Love was born on May 25, 1941, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City and passed away on April 16, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas. She was the only child of Willis Frederick and Thelma Elizabeth Woodring. When Judy was three years old, her parents moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where her father was co-owner of Oklahoma Plumbing and Heating Company, a plumbing contracting firm. She lived in Enid through her childhood and was a graduate of Enid High School. Her interest in music began early with lessons in ballet, tap, and toe. In grade school, she began her study of the flute and played until college, where she was honored to play with the Phillips University Orchestra in Enid. As a young adult, Judy joined the work force and was employed in different states and in various employment situations, from civil service to banking to being a legal secretary for 20 years. A lifelong Christian, Judy remained active in the Protestant church, singing in church choirs wherever she lived. Most recently, Judy was an active member of Westwood Presbyterian Church in Wichita, where she sang in the choir for over seventeen years. It was through participation in Church choir that Judy met her beloved husband of almost twenty-four years, Virgil “Ernie” Love, whom she married on August 14, 1999, and who survives her. Judy was predeceased by her parents. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Brenda Love Collins, her husband, Steve Collins, and their children, Paul (Valarie), and Sarah (Flo), as well as her stepson Scott Love, his husband Larry Cassil, and their children, Lauren (Sarah), and Mackenzie (Ty), and great-grandsons, Emerson, Everett, and Gabriel. Judy’s funeral will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 8007 W. Maple Street, Wichita, KS 67209, followed by entombment at the Mausoleum at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, KS 67206. Memorial funds in Judy’s name have been established at Westwood Presbyterian Church and the ASPCA.
