Jon was born December 15, 1941, in Longview, TX to William Yxl and Jettie May (Barber) Crockett. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, TX and attended Texas Tech University.
He married Nancy Sutton on December 6, 1974, and together they raised two children: Sara (Dustin) Bond and Doug (Kama) Crockett, both of Wichita.
He is also survived by his three daughters: Diana (Michael) Dow of Houston, TX, Debbie (David) Herbert of Haysville, KS and Christine Smith of Quitaque, TX, 10 grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Jansen, Madison Smith, Connor (Taylor) Pearson, Harper Williams-Dow, Ryan Dow, Kayla (Clay) Norrod, Colton, Clayton, and Keaton Crockett, and Aeris Bond 7 step grandchildren: Matthew (Natalie) Jansen, Rachel Jansen, Nathan Jansen, Adam (Corley) Herbert, Sarah (Tim Brigden) Herbert, Ashley (Clayton) Barr, and Savannah Smith, four great grandchildren: Barrett and Remington Norrod and Oslo and Lagos Pearson, four step-great grandchildren: Maya, Zac and Alex Jansen and Shaylah Smith, along with many other family members and friends.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings: Bill Crockett, Barbara Dike and Joe Crockett and step-great granddaughter Anya Jansen.
He was known for his quick wit and cheerful disposition. He always loved traveling, going to casinos and playing online poker. He retired from Boeing where he worked as an industrial engineer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 10:00 am at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Kellogg St. Wichita, KS 67209. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Jon Crockett’s life.
