Jerry Lee Stroud Sr.

Jerry Lee Stroud, Sr., 88, of Wichita, KS passed away on Sunday June 9, 2024 in Wichita. Jerry was born in Edna, Kansas on a dairy farm to Frank and Rosetta Stroud. His family moved to Reliance, Wyoming when he was 8 years old, where he attended a charter school set up by the Union Pacific Coal Company. The family then relocated to Wichita, Kansas in 1954. Here, Jerry attended Planeview High School, where he met his first love, Merina Koomsa. They eloped to Wellington, Kansas on July 22, 1955, and began their 47-year journey together until Merina’s passing on December 30, 2002. Jerry began volunteering at Wesley Medical Center in January of 2005, where he met his second love, Rose Moss. They were married on June 6, 2009.

Jerry’s career began at Wiesel machine shop, followed by a stint at Boeing. Through the grace of God, he then moved to Beech Aircraft, where he worked for 40 years, starting in the machine shop and eventually becoming an N/C programmer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank M. Stroud; mother, Rosetta Tresner Stroud; Sister, Betty Knodel; brother-in-law, Elmer Knodel; brother, Johnny Dean Stroud, and wife Merina Koomsa Stroud.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Lucero-Moss Stroud, his sons Jerry L. Stroud, Jr. and Steven (Desi) Moss, his daughters, Jeanne Ann (Matt) Kriebiel, Kimberley (Brian) Sutton, and Pamela (Pat) Dougherty, Grandchildren, Jeanne Lee (Randy), Matthew (Kate), Natasha, Seth (Lauren), Alexandria (Zach), Samantha (John), Timothy, Ryann (Jordan), Gage (Sydney), Brennan, Gunner, Cassity and Kingston. Great-Grandchildren, Morgan (Sarah), Noah, Braxton, Olive Rose, Lucy, Isla, Sophie. Great Great-Grandchildren, Evie, Roark and Sylvie Mae. Brother Jimmy Stroud and many other family members.

Celebration of Life services for Jerry will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, July 13th, at Planeview Community Church, 3360 Neely Court, Wichita, Kansas 67210.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in remembrance of Jerry to the Planeview Community Church, 3360 Neely Court, Wichita, Kansas 67210.
