She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 27 years, Norman White, and daughter Kathryn Schorn.
Gwen is survived by her son Michael Myers, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
At the age of twelve, after her father’s death in 1942, she and her mother moved to Wichita. Soon after she was diagnosed with Polio and made a complete recovery within a year. In 1949 Gwen accepted Jesus Christ as her savior.
Gwen worked at various jobs. In 1952 she graduated for South West Baptist College in Bollivar, MO. While attending college she was a singer and song leader for a weekend gospel group, and volunteer leader of the Missions Program. She was appointed by the Home Missions Board as a summer student missionary to New Mexico.
As a military wife in the 1960’s, married to Charles Myers, she lived in Germany and Spain. Returning to Wichita, she worked as a medical transcriptionist for Saint Francis Hospital for 13 years and retired in 1989.
Gwen and Norman Bailey White were married in Newkirk, Oklahoma on June 21, 1979.
Gwen loved music, dancing, reading and serving the Lord any way she could.
After retiring, she and her husband Norman enjoyed traveling on bus tours and doing volunteer work for Hospice and hospital visitations.
Her favorite scripture was Psalm 139, which she learned soon after her salvation in 1949.
