Francisca Urbano, 98, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born October 9, 1926 in Somerville, Texas, the daughter of Cleto and Lidia (Silva) Martinez.
Francisca was united in marriage to Thomas M. Urbano on August 26, 1946 in Brownsville, Texas, and to this union 7 children were born, Oscar, Maria, Thomas Jr., Gloria, Ruben, Ralph and Alberto. Francisca enjoyed cooking, painting, dancing, sewing, knitting, shopping, but most importantly, spending time with her family.
Francisca was a woman of strong Catholic faith, where she was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Wichita, Kansas. As a devoted Catholic, she was always found praying the Rosary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleto and Lidia Martinez; her husband, Thomas Urbano; along with her son, Thomas Urbano, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Oscar (Michelle) Urbano, Maria "Mary" Urbano, Gloria Urbano, Ruben (Inez) Urbano, Ralph Urbano, and Alberto Urbano; her siblings, Lupe Cordoba, Consuelo Carnales, Maria Rodriguez, and Paula Rosas; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025; Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM, both at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2351 North Market Street, Wichita, Kansas 67219. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Christus, Wichita.
