Eugene J. “Gene” Weber, 86, retired member of Local 29 of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association and US Navy Korean War veteran died August 24, 2014. He was preceded in death by parents A.M. “Tony “ and Anna Marie (Rohling) Weber of Wellington, brother Tony and his loving wife of 54 years Margaret (Durant) Weber. Gene was born in rural west Wichita in 1928 but was raised on a farm near Wellington which he called home. He was a resident of Wichita since 1954 where he and Margaret raised their five children. Gene was a proud and loyal member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association for 58 years working most of those at Central Air Conditioning Mechanical Contractors in Wichita. He was dedicated to the church community at All Saints Catholic Parish where he volunteered his time in Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop activities as well as lending support to the Girl Scout troops.
He is survived by his children James (Karen) Weber, Doug (Jean Ann) Weber, Theresa Weber, Bradley (Kelli) Weber and Mary Weber, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Rosary Recitation, 7pm, Thurs. August 28th, DeVorss Flanagan Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita. Mass of Christian Burial, 10am, Fri. August 29th, All Saints Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
