Dorothy, that everyone knew as “Becky”, grew up in Salina, Kansas and graduated with her bachelors degree in English and education from Kansas Wesleyan University. She taught school in Effingham, Kansas. When she married her husband, Jack, in 1953 they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she lived out the rest of her life. Jack and Becky were married for 55 years.
Becky is survived by her two children, Brad and Sharon. She is also survived by Brad’s wife, Carla and their children, Becca, Blake and Bria, and Sharon’s son, Ian. She had four great-grandchildren Avery, Bennett, Jack and Lou.
Becky was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker, and “Grandma” who selflessly cared for her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Becky loved Jack’s sister, Mary, and her husband, Karl, both who have passed on. She had a wonderful relationship with all her nieces and nephews.
After her children left home, Becky enjoyed being a docent at the Wichita Art Museum. She was a lifelong member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Her friendships were long lasting, and full of joy and laughter.
