Dorothy J. Hopson, age 95, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Dorothy was born June 14, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas, to Henry Eugene Solsby and Alta Alene (Hastie) Solsby. She was united in marriage to Ray C. Hopson on July 8, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. She was an avid bridge player and golfer. She had two "Hole in 1's" at the Rolling Hills Country Club. Dorothy was very creative in making many things for her family and friends including ceramic treasures, stationary quilling, stitchwork, painting, knitting and embroidery.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Solsby and Marcia Louise (Solsby) Mozingo.
Survivors include: niece, Valarie (Tim) Page, of Wichita; and nephews, Mike (Mary) Mozingo, of Wichita and Bruce (Jan) Hopson, of Clearwater.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at Resthaven Mortuary. Private family interment will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Acacia, beside her husband, Ray.
A memorial has been established with Home Health & Hospice of Kansas, 7607 E. Harry Street, Wichita, KS 67207.
