Wichita, Kansas - Deanna Gayle Talley Ray was born on a farm on April 6, 1943, in Hope, Kansas. Her arrival was announced by the old country doctor exclaiming, "You have a beautiful baby boy!" Her Aunt then quickly exclaimed, "It's a girl, you old fool!" This marked the beginning of Deanna's life. After many moves around the country and the world, she went on a blind date in September of 1963. On that date, she met the love of her life, Dwight Ray. Soon after on November 29, 1963, she and Dwight became a cord of three strands with their Lord through the covenant of marriage. She was proud to be the mother of three children, Christy, Cheryl, and Darrin in 1965, 1967, and 1969 respectively. Her three children went on to be married as well and brought her the additional blessings of 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were her joy. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She had a beautiful God-given gift of finding commonality with anyone she met. Her personality could make people feel safe, comfortable, and loved from the start. Many times, these relationships would become life-long and very special. God gave Deanna these special gifts and her family and friends will remember her warmth, wit, and love fondly. Thanking God each time we remember her. Visitation at 10 AM and funeral service at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 20th at Country Acres Baptist Church, 8810 W. 10th Street, Wichita, KS
