As a young man, Charles graduated from North High school in 1953 and proudly served in the United States Air Force. His working years were spent traversing the country as a truck driver until he retired. He was a devout Baptist and member of Meridian Avenue Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served on several church committees. Charles was also a past member of the Shriners. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family, always having a smile to share.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audra and Alice Blalack; wife of 49 years, Barbara Walker-Blalack; daughter, Debbie Blalack-Hains; as well as his brother's, Jerl Blalack and John Keith Blalack.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Robert "Sid") Rader; step-son, Brian McCabe; son-in-law, Pat Hains; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Rader (Jeffrey Lehmann), Jacob Rader, Phillip Baker, Peter Baker (Shani Foeller), Joshua McCabe, Megan McCabe (Sean Allison), Jesse McCabe, Katelyn McCabe and Madalyn McCabe; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Throughout his life, Charles enjoyed an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with all those who surrounded him. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate him putting on his new heavenly body and running to Jesus. Philippians 3:20-21
Graveside service with Military Funeral Honors for Charles will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Hillside Cemetery, 125th North and Hoover Road, Sedgwick, Kansas 67135.
The family gratefully declines flowers, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted.
