Catherine Sue Sigg

Catherine “Cathy” Sue Sigg, age 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the home she shared with her best friend and life partner, Dawn Daniels on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023. Cathy was born in Burr Oak, KS on August 1st, 1953, to her mother, Alice Catherine Jones of Wichita, KS. Cathy was raised by her mother, alongside her sisters, Linda Dillon and Mella Dee Dillard of Wichita, KS, who all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her best friend of 50 years, Pattie McCullough and cousins Dick and Joanne Royse, all of Wichita, KS.

Cathy was a very compassionate, loving woman who spent her life giving her time to care for others. She was always surrounded by her family and an abundant circle of friends, who she regarded and loved as her family. She leaves behind the love of her life and partner of 34 years, Dawn Daniels of Wichita, KS; nephew Eddie Baenisch (Cheri) of Covington, GA; god-daughter Ashley McCullough of Wichita, KS; brother-in-law Virgil Dillon of Wichita, KS; and cousins Kevin Royse (Barbara) of Wichita, KS; Gloria Wright of Mesa, AZ; Doug Ropp (Pattie) of Fort Scott, KS; Dickie MacDonald (Betsy) of Albuquerque, NM. Cathy was an avid dog lover, specifically of Schnauzer’s, and also leaves behind her beloved fur-baby, Lexi.

Cathy owned her own hair styling business in Wichita, KS in the 1980s and began her career with Builders Inc. in 1988, where she worked until her retirement in 2008. These two careers provided her an atmosphere to meet many different people, most of whom would become close and dear friends, because of her infectious personality and genuinely happy disposition.

Cathy believed in doing what was right and what was good, by being kind and helping others. The world lost a great woman who will forever be remembered for her selfless acts of kindness, concern, and love for others. As her final show of appreciation and kindness, she wanted to ensure all her wonderful doctors, nurses and beautiful hospice caretakers at Enhabit Home Health and Hospice were recognized for their care, compassion, and comfort they provided to her and her family, especially during her last days.

Family and friends are all invited to attend the Graveside Service and Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 4th, 2023.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am at Lakeview Cemetery at 12100 E. 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67206.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am at Raintree Village South Club House, 7700 E. 13th St, Wichita, KS 67206.
