Calvin D. Roberts

Calvin Dean Roberts, son of Homer Calvin Roberts & Mary Bell Hooper, Alta Vista, KS, born April 22, 1928, entered Heavens Gates April 6, 2017. Calvin graduated from Alta Vista High School. Calvin married Doris M. Hultgren of White City, Oct 22, 1950. He worked as a farmer early in their marriage. After farming for a short time Calvin moved his family to Wichita. He worked at various jobs before he began his work as a locksmith for the Wichita Board of Education, from which he earned his retirement. Calvin was active in Riverlawn Christian Church where he studied, worshipped and served. His gifts were in areas of prayer and encouragement. He was THE best gardener ever! He loved his wife and family tremendously! He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Calvin; mother, Mary Bell; sister, Fern (Roberts) Axe; and brother, Lynn Roberts. He is survived by Daughters, DeAnne (Roberts) & Dwayne Schmidt, Wichita, KS, Debbie (Roberts) & Larry Snodgrass, Wichita, KS; Son, Ronnie (Linda) Roberts, Junction City, KS; grandchildren, Ashley (Schmidt) & Jesse Janzen, Wichita, KS, and their children: Jordy and Jace, Kyle Schmidt, Portland, OR, Krista (Schmidt) & Josh Wiebe, Hillsboro, KS; Dani (Snodgrass) & Nathan Poe, Wichita, KS, and their children, Lillee, Silas, Gideon, Eliza; Jenni (Snodgrass) & David Farinola, Kansas City, MO, and their children Ramona & Evelyn, Travis & Nichole Roberts, Valley Center, KS, and their children, Londyn & Emma, Brady & Nicole Roberts, Sedgwick, KS, Lindsay (Roberts) & Jarred Landrith, Oliver, Junction City, KS, and Teresa (Roberts) & Sheldon Newsham, Rossville, KS. Funeral service will be held at Riverlawn Christian Church 1:00 p.m. Sat. April 8, 2017.
