Armida H. Garcia (Gutierrez), 68, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 surrounded by her husband and three girls. She was born on September 2, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas, and was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert P. and Irene Gutierrez (Moreno), and sister Estella Gutierrez.
Armida attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and Madonna/Bishop Carroll Catholic High School before attending Wichita State University. Following this, Armida went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&T. She later retired and attended Kansas Newman College obtaining a degree in radiologic technology. She then went to work for Via Christi and later retired from the hospital where she worked in the nuclear medicine department.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Garcia; daughters: Ashley, and Natalie Garcia, and Christina Arteaga; four grandchildren: Jose (Shelby), Christopher (Luz), Manny, and Jessenia Rodriguez; two brothers: Steve (Cheri) and Roger (Ruby) Gutierrez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Armida will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Kellogg, Wichita, KS with a rosary later in the day at 7:00 PM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3030 N Amidon Ave, Wichita, KS 67204. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 10 AM, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Kellogg, Wichita, KS.
