Wallace “Wally” Wegner, 90, of Wichita Falls passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at his nephew’s home. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Kevin Tiaden. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Wally was born October 28, 1922 in Faribault, a small community outside Clements, Minnesota to Edwin and Marie (Radatz) Wegner. He married Margaret Thompson of Wichita Falls in California. Wally was a machinist and inspector for United Airlines and retired after working for them over 35 years. He played in the tournaments for United Airlines on their golf and bowling teams. Wally was an avid traveler, having different campers and travel trailers over the years, and he liked to fish. He loved to watch sports on TV but his favorite was football and golf. Wally was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served many years as an usher.
Mr. Wegner is preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret in 2009; parents, Edwin and Marie Wegner; five brothers, Harvey Wegner, William Wegner, Warren Wegner, Wilbert Wegner, Norman Wegner; and one sister, Leona Silbernagle.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Carol Owens of Redwood City, CA; three sisters, Lois Schelp of Bellevue, WA, Luella Morson of Northfield, MN, and Sylvia Wegner of Redman, WA; along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
