Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December, 23, 2014, in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Stubblefield of Highland Heights Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in the Magnolia Garden. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. A reception will be held after the interment in the stateroom of Hampton Vaughan.
Lydia was born December 2, 1918, in Hugo, Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Sarah Isabel (Kelly) Stepp. She married Louis Watkins on July 9, 1938. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and an incredible cook. Lydia was a longtime member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. She loved shopping for antiques and had a knack for finding treasures that gave great memories of the past. She was a major contributor to the founding of M & M Manufacturing with her husband and brother, Sonny, in 1958.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Watkins, daughter Mona Gale Caldwell, two sisters, Era Bond, Sally Vernon, three brothers, John, LeeRoy, Sonny Stepp, and great granddaughter Rachel Caldwell.
Survivors include her daughter, Norma Priester and husband Steve, son-in-law Jim Caldwell, grandchildren include James Caldwell and wife Margaret, Randy Caldwell and wife Bebe, Kim Caldwell, Nathan Priester, Seth Priester and wife Stacie, Ian Priester and wife Rebecca, 7 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
