Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville Texas.
Leila Dumas, 89, passed away November 1, 2022. Leila was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Leila met and married the love of her life Jim Dumas in Chicago in 1951, shortly thereafter Jim took Leila to his home in Texas to live.
They celebrated their marriage for 66 years. Both Leila and Jim put themselves through college while working and raising 3 children. Jim and Leila were Teachers in Austin Texas. Leila taught High School Physics for 30 years and co- authored several Physics Books. Leila had a deep passion for Physics and the art of teaching talented minds.
Leila and Jim were Christians and members of Believers Church in Leander where they were actively involved for many years. They both loved their church family very much and were so happy to be a part of that fellowship.
Leila was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her daughter Terry Dumas, her parents and all three of her brothers. Leila is survived by her two sons, Frank and Jack, their wives, four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
