Helen Peeler, 83, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Wichita Falls. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by her grandsons, Reverend Ronnie Leavelle and Reverend Donald Tittle. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Helen was born February 16, 1930 in Bonita, Texas to Bryan E. and Hazel W. (Reed) Laseman. June 6, 1949 she married Waid Harris Peeler, Sr. in Wichita Falls and together they raised four children. Helen was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Saint Jo, Texas. She retired from PPG Industry where she worked for eighteen years. She loved working outdoors in her flower garden and vegetable garden, tending her fruit trees, mowing grass, and pulling weeds. She was a great cook and loved the holidays. Her life was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Peeler is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Waid Peeler, Sr. in 1967; and son, Danny Harris Peeler.
Survivors include her devoted children and their spouses, Virginia and Keith Rhone of Wichita Falls, Waid and Vickie Peeler of Pensacola, FL, Pam and Ron Leavelle of Wichita Falls; sister, Eva Nell Beavers of Bowie; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Peeler’s memory to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
