Guadalupe Enriquez

Lupe Enriquez, 85, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her daughter’s home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Johnny Botello. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, Garden of Peace.

Lupe was born December 2, 1925 in Knox City, TX to Rodrigo and Angela (Acosta) Sanchez. She married Santiago Enriquez in April 1947 in Munday, TX and together they raised five children and they lived in Wichita Falls all their married life. She loved to quilt, embroidery, and crochet. She was a very active member of Primera Assemblea de Dios Church. She was a long standing active member of Women’s Ministries and her love of missions and evangelistic ministries highly influenced her to participate in many fund raising efforts including making and selling tamales for the last fifty-nine years.

Mrs. Enriquez is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 48 years, Santiago Enriquez in 1995; son, Ernest Enriquez in 2000; and great-grandson, Jordan.

Survivors include her devoted children and their spouses, Rosie and Tom Scholl, Amelia Amador, all of Wichita Falls, Jimmy and Kathy Enriquez of New Braunfels, TX, Elida Enriquez of Houston; sisters and brother-in-law, Manuela Sanchez of Wichita Fall, Julia Lopez of Abilene, TX, Rachel and Domingo Lopez of Ulysses, KS; brother, Matias Sanchez of Cicero, IL; ten grandchildren and spouses, Tommy and Lori Scholl, Nick Scholl, Susan Amador, Mark Amador, Jenny Gross, Jessica Enriquez, Chris Enriquez, Shannon and Tony Garcia, James Enriquez, Michael and Tyisha Enriquez; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
