Gloria McGinnis

Gloria Regalado McGinnis was a woman of many names: daughter, sister, Gi-Gi, niece, aunt, mother, nana, ya-ya, great grandma and sweetheart. The names reflect her legacy - the people around her. They reflect the ones who touched her life and were touched by her life in return.

Gloria was born May 8, 1949 in Santa Maria, California to Johnny and Maria Regalado. She was the baby sister to three siblings: Sonny, Eva and Joe. Losing her mother before a year old, Josephine - Maria entered her life, cared and raised Gloria as her own.

Gloria met and married John Michael Leslie on December 23, 1967. They had one son, Daniel and one daughter Shannon Maree. They spent several years living and traveling between California and Texas. Gloria settled in Texas where she self-trained and worked at Arlington Telecable to support her children.

Given a second chance of love, Gloria then met her soul-mate Gerald (Jerry) McGinnis in Arlington, Texas and was married on April 25, 1996. Holding to "in sickness and in health", Jerry lovingly dedicated and cared for Gloria through many years of health challenges. She entered her heavenly realm at the age of 71 on Friday, April 23,2021.

Gloria's thoughts were always on her children. Taking from her own life challenges - she was eager to share her thoughts and experiences with her children and granchildren. Most treasured memories are those of us sitting around the kitchen table sharing life's happenings, laughing at each other and with each other.

Gloria was unfairly preceded in death by her "honey" - Jerry McGinnis, father - Johnny Regalado, mother - Maria Regalado, stepmother - Josephine Maria Regalado and brother - Gilbert (Sonny) Regalado.

She is survived by her sister - Eva Schruff and husband, Gerhardt, brother - Joe Regalado and wife, Sherry, son - Daniel Leslie and wife, Tiffany and daughter - Shannon Maree Leslie. Surviving grandchildren, include Drake Leslie, Logan Leslie, Alexa Lucas, Nathan Leslie, Matthew Johnson and great-grandson, Titan Michael Ohm.
