Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park.
Euel was born February 2, 1927 in Henrietta, Texas to James Hervey Whitaker and Ola (McCracken) Whitaker. He graduated from Midway High School, attended Hardin Junior College, and served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946. He married Wanda Belle Johnson on August 1, 1947 in Bellevue, Texas.
He retired in 1984, while living in Greensboro, North Carolina, and was recognized for 33 years of employment with Colonial Pipeline as operating supervisor.
After retirement, he enjoyed golf, a weekly game of dominoes, traveling, and working with wood creating hand carved figurines. He was a long time member of University United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Wanda; brother, Ben Whitaker, and sisters, Gwendolyn Dickey and Doris Haigood. He is survived by his nieces, nephews and his two god-children.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of House of Hope, and Hospice of Wichita Falls for their compassionate care.
