Eloise Mason, age 87, died peacefully in the presence of loving family members on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Emeritus Senior Living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Hwy. in Wichita Falls. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. There will be a reception from Noon until 1:00 Saturday at the funeral home.
Eloise was born October 5, 1926 to D. N. and Cora Cato in Bokchito, Oklahoma and grew up in Wichita Falls, TX, graduating from Wichita Falls High School. She then resided in various locations including Alaska, Massachusetts and Germany before settling again in Wichita Falls. Among her many employers were M.I.T. in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the United States government.
Eloise was a devoted daughter, wife and mother who enjoyed living her life to the fullest. She was highly creative and loved fashion, decorating, teaching and entertaining. As a young wife and mother, she was active in the Fountain Park Garden Club, taught Sunday school and, in her later years, enjoyed the Red Hat Society, her Sunday school class and working at Sheppard Air Force Base. Eloise was a long time member of Lamar Baptist Church.
She leaves to treasure her memory, her son Hal Mason, Jr., daughters Victoria Lynn and Diane LeRoy, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Eloise was preceded in death by husbands Thomas H. Myslicki and Hal G. Mason, her parents, her sister Joyce Hayford and her sister-in-law and dear friend Mary Jim Graham.
