Allen Martin

Visitation will be 6-8 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Martin was born on January 23, 1947, in Whiteland, Indiana, to Donald Curtis and Phyllis Maxine (Richarson) Martin. He married the love of his life, Elaine Scoggin, on April 9, 1972. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the owner of Allen’s Auto Repair and retired in 2002. Mr. Martin was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and very active in their TV Ministry for many years.

Mr. Martin had the most jovial disposition and never met a stranger. He was a great encourager and always saw the best in people. He brought sunshine to any room he entered and loved everyone. He was known to give the biggest and best bear hugs. If you knew Allen Martin, you knew overwhelming love and kindness.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Martin; son, Dexter Martin and wife Karyn; daughter, Kendra Lakey and husband Joshua; grandchildren, Ella Lakey, Amelia Lakey, Ella Murman, and Owen Murman; sister, Yvonne Martin Leslie and husband Wayne; brothers, Jim Cress and wife Shirley; Scott Cress.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Phyllis Martin.
