Samuel Cardillo 89, of Whiting passed away at the Pines at Whiting on Tuesday April 30th. Sam was born in Manhattan and lived in Piscataway before moving to Whiting 31 years ago. He worked in the postal inspection service at the Newark Postal Office, working 31 years. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years Angelica Cardillo, four children and their spouses, Samuel and Deborah Cardillo of Cherry Hill, Peter and Theresa Cardillo of Little Egg Harbor, Catherine and David Bitner of Green Castle, PA., and Jo-Anne and Brian Anderson of Israel, a sister Christine Sullivan of Naples, FL. Also surviving is 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3 to 5 PM at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting. A memorial service for Sam will be Friday at 2 PM at the Pines at Whiting in Whiting. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to America's Keswick, 601 Route 530, Whiting, NJ. 08759
