A warm and loving soul is now praising and worshiping Our Lord and Savior in Heaven with a smile and a kind word. Robert ("Bob") Louis Brooks (89) of Morristown and Whiting, NJ, touched the face of God on the evening of June 12, 2023, dying peacefully at home surrounded by family after a rich life of friendliness, hard work and self-improvement.
Robert was born on April 11, 1934, in Morristown, NJ to Nelson Brooks, Sr. and Nettie Brooks, as the eldest of 3. Robert was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Everline Glover; his stepdaughter, Marion Lines; and his niece, Karen Glover. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet E. Brooks; his brother, Nelson Brooks, Jr. (Marian); his 3 children, Kenneth Brooks, Cynthia Brooks-Bullock (John), and Marvin Jay Brooks (Molly); his 3 step-children, Margaret Ricciardi (Tom), Malcolm Lines (Tina), and Melissa Lines; his grandchildren, Otis, Vance and Jared; his step-grandchildren, Matthew, Katelyn, Justin, Alyssa, Bryan, Joyce, Robert and Kayla; and many extended family and dear friends.
Bob retired from a career with John Hancock Life Insurance Company. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humor and kindness. Bob was very skilled at carpentry and enjoyed working with his hands. He was active in his community having served as the Vice President of Crestwood Village #7 Homeowners Association. Robert served his country as a former member of the United States Army.
Robert had the good fortune to meet and marry his beloved wife of 27 years, Janet. Together they modeled a loving marital partnership of fun, mutual respect, and undying love for one another.
