Roy Robert Thomas

Beloved husband of Joanne for 56 years. Loving father of Theresa (J. Timothy) Fields, Linda (Todd) Barna and Gregory Thomas. Proud grandfather of Allison Fields, Amanda Fields, Brooke Barna, Jordan Barna and Alex Barna. Brother of Barbara (Edmund) Smallwood, Charles (Sharon) Thomas, Shirley (Charles) Cranford and the late Patsy Warring.

Mr. Thomas was a 1958 graduate of the US Naval Academy and a 1966 graduate of Stanford University. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 thru 1964. He was a retired financial analyst from Ford Motor Company and a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a pilot who was passionate about flying. Bob loved nature and parks, Yosemite was one of his favorite National Parks. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs. Bob was a snowbird, wintering in Florida for fifteen years, and he had fond memories of his trips to Rambler's Rest Park. Bob considered himself a world traveler, one of his favorite places to go was Leelanau Peninsula in northern Michigan. He will be truly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins in White Lake. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake and at church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of mass at 11:00am.
