Richard, a devoted family man and vibrant spirit, lived a life rich with interests and activities that brought him immense happiness. A passionate movie lover, he cherished the thrill of cinema and the joy of sharing his favorite films with loved ones. His enthusiasm for sports was unwavering, particularly his die-hard loyalty to the Detroit Lions, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for his home team.
Richard found immense joy in simple pleasures—whether it was savoring a good meal, spending time with family, or embarking on the many cherished road trips to Florida to visit his parents. His love for fishing provided both relaxation and adventure, while his appreciation for music and dancing brought an extra layer of fun to family gatherings.
A true tech and gaming aficionado, Richard was always on the cutting edge of the latest trends, finding joy in exploring new games and engaging in friendly competition. His love for playing cards, especially the holiday favorites- Euchre and Slippery Ace, with family, was a highlight of his social life and a tradition he held dear.
Richard's kindness, sense of humor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children Ryan Belaen and Stephanie Belaen; and siblings Ron (Kathy) Belaen, Tom Belaen, Dan Belaen, David (Carolyn) Belaen, and Suzanne Fura.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 1233 Union Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48386.
