Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Singleton of West Bloomfield, beloved wife, mother, and nana, passed away on May 6, 2024. Born on July 15, 1938, in Pontiac, MI, Betty was the loving daughter of Lawrence and Marion Giesey and sister to eleven siblings.
Betty graduated from West Bloomfield High School in the class of 1956, and on May 9, 1959, Betty embarked on a lifelong adventure with her high school sweetheart, the late Dennis Singleton. Their union of 56 years was a testament to love, loyalty, and shared values. They were avid golfers and enjoyed their Multi-Lakes Community and many life-long friendships.
Betty cherished her time with family. Corn roasts and pool parties were some of her favorite extended family get-togethers. She also enjoyed being there to support her grandchildren while they pursued their endeavors, whether it be at their sporting events, concerts, academic recognition ceremonies, or competitions. She never missed an event.
A devout member of Orchard Lake Community Church Presbyterian, Betty found joy in her women's circle and dedicated countless hours to volunteering, extending her hand to those in need within her community. Her compassionate nature led her to join Stephen Ministries, where she provided counsel and support to those facing life's challenges. Betty embarked on two mission trips to Uganda, where her compassion touched the lives of many.
Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by children Timothy E. (Marie) Singleton, Steven J. (Karrie) Singleton, and Denise E. (Brian) Russ; grandchildren Kyle Russ, Nolan (Lauren) Russ, Zachary Singleton, Rylee Singleton, and Harper Singleton; siblings Edna Roach, Patsy Worden, Mary Lou Buckley, Jimmy (Mary) Giesey, and Johnny Giesey; and many nieces and nephews as well as a community deeply touched by her presence.
