To all in the Best Family, I am very sorry for your loss.  I will keep Chris, all his family and friends in my prayers.  I was glad I could attend his funeral mass today.  Chris was the Sound Engineer and Road Manager for several years for our band Red Alert.  During those times we had much time to get to know Chris and experienced much in our travels together.  All of us where lucky to work and spend time with Chris, he made us sound great, helped keep us grounded and did his best to keep us out of trouble.  Some of the best memories with Chris were from an extended trip to play in Florida.  Disney World, going to Playalinda beach and the other beaches during the day, working the clubs at night, we had a ton of fun.  I wanted to share a funny story with you to remind us of the fun Chris had doing what he loved during his life.  
We met a guy at one of the clubs who drove the astronauts around the Kennedy Space Center.  Chris and all of us were invited to watch a rocket launch so we loaded up in a pickup during the day and got a tour of the grounds as we drove to watch the launch.  The driver showed us the general public viewing area and continued driving, and then the VIP viewing area, and then the area were the families of the astronauts view from.  We traveled a bit further then turned down the road to the active launch pad where the driver said we would pull off and watch the launch from.  We could not believe we were going to watch the launch from such a forward spot even past the family viewing area.  Well we found out we pretty quick we should not have been there.  About 30 seconds after turning down the road we ended up being surrounded by MPs in Jeeps.  After a few tense moments and the driver identifying himself as a driver at the Space Center, the MPs started laughing that the driver really thought he could take us that close, we obviously were not astronauts.  We were escorted back past the Family area, past the VIP area and to the general public viewing area where Chris and the rest of us had a huge laugh about our ordeal and enjoyed the rocket launch.  Chris will be missed by us all.

We are so very sorry for your tragic loss of Chris. I remember Chris at Bests' Family summer occasions, always accompanied by happy young people he was a treasured mentor for and provided guidance and care. An Angel on Earth & Heaven. Keeping you all in our caring thoughts and prayers.

Cris, rest in peace and may God bless you. Your peaceful easygoing spirit will be how I remember you. Always generous with your time and  abilities, you blessed many lives. My condolences to the family.

I am terribly sorry for this loss of life!  He certainly was a good, gracious man, though I never had the pleasure of meeting him; always good thing I heard! Chris has been a parent to a lot of Foreign Exchange Students. They loved him like a father. Chris has always been kind and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. It is difficult to even think about how he died. He certainly did not deserve to go like that. My thoughts and prayers for him always.

Chris was a hero to many young people who looked to him for guidance and advice. He was always accompanied by one or more young person seeking an alternative to their current direction. They got assistance with their bearings from Chris. Chris always had my respect; a man who gave so much and asked for so little in return. The world is a lesser place. He will be missed.

Chris was our sound engineer and an integral part of our band, Rhythm Society Orchestra. He was always a kind soul and willing to do anything to help anyone. We are all shocked and heartbroken by this tragedy. Chris will missed by many and he and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I just recieved word of Chris's death and am sending our deepest condolesence to his family.  We had many a good time with Chris and will remember his kind heart and always smiling face. I  will always remember Chris's fostering of young people.  He did it completely selflessly and with love and respect for the children he fostered.  I remember sharing a conversation with he and my wife Ann Marie where he was explaining the difficulties and frustrations of getting thru the huge paperwork process of becoming a parent to a foster child.  All the while this never stopped him from giving time and guidance to these worthy kids.  Chris was the kind of person that the world needs more of. Chris was the most wonderful person I have had the pleasure to have called my friend. I remember the day we met at his job interview back around 1975 with the Salem Witchcraft Band, to be our sound tech. We all agreed after a very short time and he has been my friend since that day. He was always so supportive and giving with all the Charity work I did and was always on board to support whatever the cause we were performing for. He had a great big heart and I will miss him everyday of my life. We were on the phone for almost a half hour, up to just minutes before he lost his life and I'll be lost without him in my life. Friends like Chris only come around once in a lifetime and to lose him in such a way, is too much for me to take. He was such a supportive person in my life....I just miss him and my life has gotten darker without his shining light to help me find my way in this nasty world.... :o(
