Floyd Joseph “Noonie Boy” Daigle, 87, died on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his home in White Castle surrounded by his family. He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS LST. He received a degree as a Deisel Mechanical Engineer and also in Air Conditioning and Heating. He enjoyed motor home camping, hunting, and was always helping his family, friends, and neighbors as a jack of all trades. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marian Labarthe Daigle; two daughters, Pam Burleigh and husband Kenneth, and Darlene Daigle Conlan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Dianne Daigle, and Randy and Toni Daigle; eight grandchildren, Juli Maniscalco, Ginny Leonard, Randy Daigle Jr., Christopher Daigle, Travis Daigle, Misty Schexnaidre, Cody Daigle, and Ryne Burleigh; and 22 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Milda Daigle; two sisters, Gladys Thibodaux and Doris Leonard; and two brothers, Louis Daigle and Huey Daigle.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Daigle, Randy Daigle, Jr., Travis Daigle, Cody Daigle, Ryne Burleigh, and Chad Schexnaidre. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter Landry, Huey Simoneaux, and Roland Diez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 8: 45a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle.
