Drozen Daigle died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at his home in White Castle surrounded by his family. He was 89, born Feb. 18, 1922. He was a retired State Department deckhand with the White Castle Ferry. Uncle Dro was a sweet, kind, loving, and caring person. He never met a stranger and when asked he was always "alright". He is survived by a sister, Theresa Traigle; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Nedia Dugas Daigle; a brother, Jevis Daigle and wife Rena; two sisters, Mae Lena Campesi and husband Charles, and Artemise Callegan and husband Wilbert; brother-in-law, Jessie "LaLou" Traigle, a longtime friend who treated him like a brother. Special thanks to his godchild, Charles "Pookie" Campesi and wife Shirley; St. Joseph's Hospice and Dorothy Washington. Also thanks to his loving sister, Theresa Traigle for taking care of all his needs since 1947. Visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle on Tuesday, May 24, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joey Angeles, celebrant.
