Warner William Eilers

Warner William Eilers (W.W.) or best known as Bill, passed away in his room at Sunrise Senior living in Broomfield Colorado on Thursday morning September 21, 2023. Bill was 87 years old. Bill was born on the 8th day of July 1936 to Warner Henry Eilers and Eugenia Johnson Eilers in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Bill had one sibling, Kenneth Eugene Eilers of Canton Georgia. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Warner and Genie, eldest son Keith and Granddaughter Claire. He is Survived by his wife Ginnie, sons Gary (Paula), Scott (Terri), Glenn (Tomie), 7 Grandchildren Danny (Meghan), Chris (Victoria), Andy, Jessie (Pete), Tyler (Brooke), Ian, and Kayleigh. 5 Great Grandchildren Ainsley, JayW, Krue, Nash and Blakely.

Bill spent his entire childhood living in Baton Rouge where he developed a love for Automobiles. Bill belonged to a car club called Draggin Rods. He loved to drag race across the Mississippi River bridge and terrorize downtown Baton Rouge in his Plymouth hot rod. Bill graduated from Baton Rouge High in 1954, and this is where he started his love story. He met his wife to be, Virginia Ann Mears (Ginnie), who he always introduced as "Ginnie the woman I love". They were married June 7, 1958, in Baton Rouge and their journey began. Bill attended LSU where he graduated on August 11th, 1961, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. A short couple weeks after graduating they made a decision that would alter everything and mold their family into what it is today. A bold move across the country to Golden Colorado, Bill had accepted a position with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in August 1961 as a Design Engineer. He worked at the Bureau until July 1966. Bill’s next big life change would sculpt he and his family's life forever. In July 1966 Bill accepted a position with the Adolph Coors Company in Golden Colorado as a Design Engineer, he held that position until February 1971 then began a long list of promotions with Coors, his final coming May 1981-November 1993 Vice President, Plant Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities. In this same time frame, he also became President of the Coors Energy Company. Bill retired from Coors in November 1993 at the young age of 57. Bill and Ginnie moved to Coal Creek Canyon in 1974 then later purchased Bill’s dream house lower in the Canyon. This home was an enormous house built into the side of the mountain on spectacular property that he loved. This kept him very busy whenever they were not traveling the globe, hunting, exploring the Utah desert or following the Spanish Trail. Unfortunately, they were forced to move after the flood of 2013 that wreaked havoc on the property and house. They moved to Arvada, Colorado to a house Ginnie loved and lived there until Senior Living became necessary for Bill’s care. Bill used to say in a very loud voice anytime we had a get together and we got loud "l must have absolute silence" he finally got his wish!

Bill will be cremated, his ashes spread by family and friends in a place he absolutely loved, our hunting camp near Paonia Colorado this 2023 hunting season.

There will be a celebration of life starting at 3:30 at Table Mountain Meeting & Events Center, 16035 Table Mountain Parkway, Golden CO. 80403. Please join us, have some finger food, beer, wine or cocktails with family and friends to celebrate Bill.
