Born to Miguel and Aurora Felix on May 27, 1943, in Denver, CO, Rose was the baby of the family, having three older brothers and two older sisters. Rose graduated from Annunciation High School in 1961 and the following year married Walter “Sonny” Anderson. Rose worked for Sears for 35 years, handling a variety of positions in the distribution warehouse, before retiring in 1998.
Rose, a devoted mother and grandmother, was immensely proud of her family and time spent with them was the absolute highlight of her life. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time when she would go all out decorating inside and out, enjoying the Parade of Lights and festive decorations all around and spoiling her beloved family. She appreciated all music, especially jazz, and often told stories of dressing up to sneak into the ‘Band Box’ to dance the night away. Rose had a voracious sweet tooth, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., Sante Fe and Chama, NM being two favored spots. Rose loved learning about and being a part of the political process as a staunch Democrat, placing her first vote for President John F. Kennedy. She participated in Cesar Chavez marches and even attended the William J. Clinton Library inauguration in Little Rock, Arkansas by personal invitation. She also reveled in bantering and teasing her neighbor Sid about politics. Rose took tremendous joy in her relationships with her siblings, cousins, friends and neighbors and her time at the Senior Center, However, she cherished her time with her grandchildren the most. Rose was an extremely loving, thoughtful, kind, generous woman who leaves behind an abundance of love and beautiful memories. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed.
Rose is survived by three children: Anthony (Renatta), of Broomfield; Christopher (Angela), of Aurora; and Jason (Wendy), of Arvada, by five grandchildren: Josh (Denise), Matthew (Britney), Marcus, Alex and Sophia, and three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Madison and Evalyn. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2009.
All services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1 PM at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 900 W Midway Blvd Broomfield, CO 80020.
