Richard (Dick) Ellis of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on May 20, 2023 at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Ellis, sons Glenn and Greg Ellis, grandchildren Madison Ellis and Andy and Gage VanCleave, Nephew Kurt Ellis and Niece Lynn Panetta.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Dick graduated from West High School in 1954 and went on to attend Oklahoma State College to study fire and safety. He worked in that field for over 30 years. After retiring, Dick worked with his son Glenn at Factory Surplus until the age of 82! Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on May 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Bridge Church at Bear Creek, 3101 S. Kipling St., Lakewood, CO 80227. The family asks that donations be made to The Bridge Church at Bear Creek in lieu of sending flowers or gifts.
