Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 20, 1960. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a police officer. After graduating from Westminster High School in 1978, he went straight into the police academy. From there he went on to serve and protect multiple communities for over 40 years. He enjoyed many hobbies, including camping and fishing, which were passions he shared as a child with his parents and siblings. In his youth, he began a love of cards and board games that grew into a family legacy of playing at any get together. His favorites included playing Black Jack at casinos and dominating at a game of Monopoly… regardless of the ages of his fellow players. His favorite times were the holidays, especially Christmas. He cherished laughing and spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a man who loved with his whole heart, laughed often, and gave without thought. He will be loved and remembered by many for that generosity and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Intermountain Area.
